About Illini Smiles Dental

Located at 303 W Springfield Ave, Champaign, IL 61820, Illini Smiles Dental operates as a dentist serving Champaign in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Champaign, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across Illinois, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Illini Smiles Dental at (217) 356-3335; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. I had a good experience here. Emily answered my phone call and was very polite and helpful. There was also another front desk lady. I don’t know her name, but she was also nice and seemed willing to help. I also appreciated that they printed out the cost for me ahead of time and explained what my insurance would cover and what I would need to pay out of pocket. That was very helpful. Delaynie, the hygienist, did my cleaning. She was very responsible and did a good job. I liked that she seemed to have high standards for her work. My teeth felt very clean afterward. During the cleaning, she kept letting me know what she was doing next, and she was very good about suctioning the water, so the process was comfortable. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend this office to my friends.

I scheduled an appointment with this clinic several months in advance. Then, when the appointment date was getting close, they called me and told me that they had decided the clinic would be closed that day because the doctor decided to take the day off. Their solution was to move my appointment to three months later. What made this experience especially frustrating was that there was not a single apology. The person who called me kept emphasizing that it was the doctor’s decision to take the day off, as if that meant the situation had nothing to do with her and she had no responsibility for it. But she was calling me on behalf of the clinic. If the clinic cannot honor a scheduled appointment because they decide to close, then the clinic should apologize to the patient. It was not my fault that they decided to close, but I was the one being asked to wait another three months. When I expressed that I was unhappy about this, she acted as if I was the one making things difficult. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply expected the basic apology I deserved because they failed to keep the appointment they had given me. This whole experience makes me question what the pu

I have been going back and forth with if I should post this review or not but, if it could save at least one person from the absolute nightmare I have gone through then so be it. In November of 2025 I had all of my top teeth removed and received an immediate denture. From the start I knew the denture was wrong however the staff assured me that it was correct and after swelling went down it would fit better. That was false, I went back to this clinic multiple times begging the dentist to fix my denture, it was way too big for my mouth. (my denture measured at almost 3 inches wide, my mouth is only 2in wide) So big that my lips would not touch when I tried to close my mouth, it would fall out the moment I open my mouth to speak and constantly was gagging me because of how far back in my mouth it went. The dentist however would only spend maybe 2-3 minuets listening to me just to shave down a small section and rush to their next patient. Its been over six months that I have had to deal with the nightmare of not having proper dentures. I have lost over 65lbs just by not being able to eat solid foods. Not to mention the looks I get when I go out in public which I don't much anymore, at

got a filling done here only to be told by my dentist back home that the filling is incomplete and that illini smiles left a giant hook-shaped crevice where food can easily get stuck in. apparently my chance of getting a cavity with this half-filled filling is 100%. hearing this, I went back to illini smiles for a complimentary consultation, where dr. xi swore up and down that it was done properly and that there would be no problems. he said that they would fix it free of charge should it cause any problems in the future. but why should I have to live in anxiety, just waiting for the filling to become an issue? and why would I choose to get it fixed at a place that screwed it up in the first place? not to mention as I walked out, the receptionists told me I had to pay out-of-pocket for the visit although it was explicitly PROMISED to me that the consultation would be free. how ridiculous. afterwards, I went back home for spring break and got my teeth cleaned at my local dentist, who once again told me that I should really, REALLY get the filling fixed. don't expect much from this place other than your usual cleaning.

first of all I am almost certain most of these positive comments are fake, everyone those who I have spoken to personally in town about this office say their filling fell out within the week of getting it. Including mine, one of my teeth currently needs to be pulled due to the atrocious and incompetent work dr. Xi did I had a small cavity on one of my molars and to fill it in he drilled my tooth nearly hollow before filling it, the filling fell out almost immediately leaving me with a massive cavity ten times more painful than the cavity I initially came in with. when the cavity fell out i asked them to temporary fix it for free as it had only been a week since I saw them (ie clearly their fault) before I could see a real dentist, they tried to make me pay full price, never fixed their mistake and refuse to take accountability to what they have done to me and so many of the other students in this town.
